Below is an AP story regarding the courageous stand Clatsop County Sheriff John Raichl has taken in protecting his county against Terrorism.
I wonder how many other Oregon Sheriff's will follow his lead and organize similar armed patrols.
I also wonder what these Oregon Sheriffs will do when the mounting evidence shows that the Terrorism Americans have suffered culminating in a blanket attack upon their Constitutional Rights is ultimately traced to elements within our own Senate, Congress, Intelligence Community and Federal Government.

ASTORIA — On the wall behind Sheriff John Raichl's desk is a carbine that was carried by a member of a civilian beach patrol during World War II, when some expected the Japanese on Oregon's shores on the first foggy morning.
Six decades later, Raichl plans to put together a volunteer force of armed civilians to counter a different threat: terrorists.
Armed with their own hunting weapons, easily done in a rural county where deer and elk hunting border on a sacred rite, they would watch over Clatsop County bridges, power lines, gas lines, fuel dumps and other potential terrorist targets.
"The Northwest may never be a target, but there is no assessment out there that says so," Raichl said.
Since Raichl proposed the volunteer force, about 35 people have called him, asking to be put on his list. He wants to sign up 125.
A columnist for The Oregonian questioned the need to drum up "125 unemployed deer hunters to guard the Seaside Skee-Ball arcade." Seaside is a tourist town south of Astoria, the county seat.
The office of Gov. John Kitzhaber says what Raichl has in mind could well be illegal, considering only the governor has the power to create an armed militia.
Raichl is proposing a force of armed civilians who would patrol and guard sites thought to be vulnerable.
Raichl says he doesn't expect the new unit to be the last line of defense but rather to carry communications equipment that will let them alert authorities to anything they see that is suspicious, then withdraw.
"We're not trying to train these people for entanglement or confrontation," Raichl said. "We're not training them for law enforcement."
Yet there is concern at the official level and on the street about putting armed people in the field with only a few hours of training.
Frederick Carry, 51, of Astoria said Raichl's idea is a good one if proper training is given. "These guys have got to know when to squeeze one off and when not to," he said. "I see nothing wrong with it."
Raichl says he has identified 43 potential targets in this rural, blue-collar county of 35,000 perched on the banks of the Columbia River and the edge of the Pacific.
Volunteers for the defense force would have to be at least 21 years old, have military or law enforcement experience, undergo a background check and know gun safety, Raichl said.
Some residents worry that an armed civilian force could attract trigger-happy people on the political fringes. But Raichl says he is on guard against white supremacists and others who may want to join for the wrong reason.
Still, Raichl's plan has been ridiculed in some quarters.
Radio call-in host Sheila Hamilton on Portland station KPAM called it absurd and bizarre.
Questions also are being raised by Clatsop County District Attorney Josh Marquis.
"Deadly force is a complex issue even in self-defense. If what he has in mind is an armed Neighborhood Watch, then I can say as a lawyer that he faces liability issues," Marquis said.
In defense of Raichl, county spokeswoman Caralyn Fischer said the sheriff is trying to get maximum protection from scant resources.
"He is being creative when county resources are stretched. He is trying to protect the public in a time of a tight budget," she said.
Raichl's proposal is meeting early resistance from the governor.
"We're very concerned with having citizens armed without training and without being deputized to carry out the duties of law enforcement," said the governor's chief of staff, Steve Marks.
Raichl said he's not trying to "undermine the governor's authority" but "we would like some extra sets of eyes in areas we are concerned about."

These are not questions another answers for you. Each of you must answer for yourselves. It is your life, your State of Being, your Eternal Soul which hinges upon the outcome of your personal soul search.
Each of you shall decide your own fate. It is up to you as to whether you will allow yourself to be herded, coerced, intimidated and driven to board cattle cars which shall take you to the waiting Concentration Camps for psychological reordering and reprogramming of priorities and remain in your present state as a neutered, politically correct, hypnotically controlled automaton ensconced in a comfortable limbo while your world disintegrates all around you, or whether you shall have the insight to see that IT IS YOU who must bring a halt to the momentum of self-destruction.

No one with intimate knowledge of Christ spends all his time attacking others who disagree with him. He would simply acknowledge those people have made sad choices for themselves, and go on with his life with calm, serenity, and good will towards others. You, however, have a pointedly different agenda: namely, to force your opinion on people by attacking them if they don't agree with you, and trying to sic the FBI on them to boot. The fact of the matter is you hate people, and love no one but yourself. This is about your own ego Ray, or more precisely, about your desperate need to feel like some sage others look to for guidance. Given that you are so often prone to 'rantings' on the subject of politics, not to mention your alleged 'persecution' by the 'man' for your misdemeanor-grade highway antics, and your penchant for filling these pages and others with your own special and highly personal brand of fluff and rhetoric, I am much less inclined to accept your pontifications on the subject of religion than I might otherwise be. Matter of fact, if I didn't know better, I'd almost be willing to say that you're attempting to do something not entirely unlike those clever Taliban types, namely take an established and well-followed concept, which is what religion represents, and bend it to your own purposes.
I'm not one to pick other people's posts apart, but suffice it to say that my take on your post is less than positive, and highly questioning of your ultimate motives regarding the subject's use.
The current israeli/palestine border 'war' is a prime example of what happens to people when they get their religion and their politics confused. Please don't be part of the problem, Ray.

Hey there. Busy, busy, busy! I'm still getting four and a half hours in at work, but, we put a bid in on a house in M______, WI the week after Thanksgiving and they accepted the bid. No counter offer. Things have just taken off like a bat out of hell. As it stands, we close the 31st of January. I HATE PACKING! When the dust settles a little I will e-mail you the photos of the house we have and some wedding pictures.
Well, I just wanted to wish you both a Merry Christmas. We are leaving in the morning for the T____-'s in D____n and then on to my parents on Sunday and then back to the T____'s on Tuesday. Travel! What is it that ALL major organized religions share at their leadership levels, a level which has allowed the Witchdoctor to share power with the Warrior -- the Pharissee to stand equally with the Politician in exerting influence and power over the ignorant masses? How have they been able to achieve such an intractable hold over the foundation of a "civilized" human being's "thinking process"?

Is not the "god" of man's world, a world built and based on illusory thought structures, the very essence of SATAN?
Is not the intellect, the dualistic computer, trained and programmed toward creating division and contradiction in matters nontechnical, the servant of Satan? Is not the Intellect itself worshipped by civilized man? Without control over the intellect would the religious and secular aims of the worldly, Satanically driven leaders be possible?
Without such control over the Intellect, would worldly leaders be able to strip away and redistribute the wealth (energy) of the masses and use it against them, thereby enslaving them with their own energy?
Even a blind man should be able to see the obvious momentum created by a technical oriented Intellect that has no business involving itself with nontechnical problem solving -- yet IT DOES!! How else could Hell on Earth have occurred?

No mothers, this is not merely a knockoff of the country and western tune. This is a call for awakening -- your own awakening. Your personal recognition for the responsibility you share in sculpting out the present Hell on Earth!!.
Don't move away from the issue while feeling insulted. That, of course, would be your primary and natural reaction to your own avoidance of taking responsibility for your part in creating human life on earth a Hell on Earth.
To encourage your sons to be soldiers is the greatest sin of motherhood, for such mothers, psychically bound to the "Eve Syndrome" act in ignorance. They have no clear understanding of that which underlies their fragmented actions. They risk losing the human being they have brought into this world. They replace that human being, that "Child of God" with a mind-controlled robotic minion, duty-bound to serve the Bassackward, Satanic GSOB'S (Glib Sons of Bitches) who rule the world. Harsh?? Look at the world of civilized man. How do you think it got that way?
How is it done? Dehumanization through Mind Control -- that's how!! It all begins innocuously enough when you send your sons and daughters to Institutions of Learning -- Government supported public schools and their counterpart, Religion supported private schools. Both are merely two sides of the same Satanic coin of power and control. It allows the consolidation of power and rule by placing it into the hands of the few who rule the many.
In doing so, you may seek to escape from your own personal responsibility as a parent by asking of yourself what choice you have in the matter -- after all, IT'S THE LAW! What options are open, are left to you? The answer is none - that is, as long as you yourself do not personally understand your own societally-correct mind set which precludes the spirit of True Intelligence from being Resurrected, from transcending the psychologically imposed narrow, conditioned, dualistic boundaries of a Satanically Trained Intellect.
Amongst your friends and acqaintances. how many intelligent mothers (or fathers for that matter) do you personally know who live life exuding such a Resurrected Spirit of Intelligence?
It's quite normal, isn't it, for you to want to be like everyone else. After all, in a crowd, you don't want to appear to *stand out* like a sore thumb. You don't want to be known as one to "rock the boat." You don't want to experience the pain of being different from your peers, so you "go along to get along."
Thus begins your own personal backslide into guilt, insanity and support of a BASSACKWARD world; and in your present state of ignorance, you remain oblivious to it all.
You vote into office GSOB's (see above). They pander to you. They flatter you. They seduce you. Then they actively set out to destroy everything you hold near and dear -- the lives of your husbands, sons, daughters and even your own right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Look deeper. Not so innocuous, is it?
You have tasted "the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil (dualism)" and gained a vicarious power from it. You've been trained since childhood to live as a second-hand citizen, to support your male counterpart, an entity equally ignorant of his male conditioning. Thus the hand of SATAN is firmly set upon the tiller which guides the Civilized Vessel of Life, "Hell on Earth."
It is all done with words like "Right" and "Wrong," "Good" and "Evil." It needn't get any more complicated than that. These opposing dualistic Concepts are all that is necessary to establish Hell on Earth. Yet only a handful are capable of understanding the horrific effect they have upon the conditioned psyche of the average human being.
This handful of Men and Women of Truth are the living Christs. They are the boat rockers of their time. Their words are shunned by the politically and religiously-correct thinkers. Their words do not have the ring of "normalcy" -- that certain resonant deadness which permeates the Politically and Religiously-Correct, conditioned mind set common to society. These "individuals" are ostracized and martyred in life, yet their words and images live on and are exploited by Governmental and Religious GSOB'S.
Strangely, the words and images which were ostracized and condemned during the life of these "individuals" at their death are worshipped and adored by the masses of the gullible and the malleable.
Is Civilized Society a BASSACKWARD HELL ON EARTH? You Bet!!

Thank you for your ideas What do you suggest we do rather than have a civillizied society? You are making some strong statements, yet pose no solution. Should we ebolish our government and let anarchy reign? Maybe then human kind will evolve into a utopia, and we can all just live happily.
The only way that your way of life will survive is if we have our government, and the men and women of the united states armed forces are there to protect it. Being a soldier is not a profession for many people. Most people aren't willing to even have the possibility of dying for their country.
You suggest soldiers are brain washed, i will agree somewhat. Soldiers do have to be willing to accept things that are not necessarly something they would enjoy doing. I doubt many pilots want to drop bombs or enjoy the act. Few infantry soldiers want to aim that gun and pull the trigger. But never the less they do it. Why? So you can safely and comfortable sit in your home and post your message, so that we can all live in relative safety, without the constant threat of attack.
I would love to see a time in which there is no need for an armed forces. John Lennon had a great dream in the song "Imagine." The truth of the matter is that time will probably never come, at least not in my life time. So in the mean time I will be proud to serve in the air force of this evil empire in order to allow all Americans the right to voice their opinions, and live in freedom.

War is never justified except during self protection. As long as people desire to take, rather than give, there shall be wars and insane acts by mankind.
