Gentlemen,
I am writing to request that you remove all but two of the current customer reviews on your online catalog page for our book "Journey Beyond Thought: Breaking the Bonds of the Conditioned Mind."
As you will see, the reason for my request is self-evident.
For the past five years Raymond Karczewski, the author of Journey Beyond Thought, has been stalked and continuously harassed and libeled on various Internet newsgroups and forums by a group of persons who post anonymously. In the past this group has used amazon.com customer reviews to further the scope of this harassment. In fact, it was due to the public posting of libelous customer reviews that prompted us to remove our book and tapes from the amazon web site nearly two years ago.
Recently my husband, Raymond Karczewski, responded to one such invalid review of his book (see below).
It is not our intention that legitimate reviews be removed from the online catalog, but rather that such bogus reviews as I have indicated below are not allowed to remain on the amazon site.
We know for a fact that the reviews written by Scott Nelson and the "1 year old reader" are indeed legitimate. The others have been put there by those persons who have been engaging in this campaign of libel and harassment for the past five years.
Here is the bogus review which appears on your catalog page for "Journey Beyond Thought" and to which my husband responded with the actual content of the page (16) mentioned by the so-called reviewer. You will find my request for its removal self-evident and reasonable

"I was very disappointed in the story contained in this pamphlet. The "plot" was merely an excuse to invoke a string of gratuitously explicit scenes. I especially disturbed by the author's account of his romp with his flock in a pastoral setting. That was too tasteless for my tastes, and entirely unnecessary. Yet we expected as much from the outset.
That was on page 16. The rest of the book went downhill from there.
The author is confused about what exactly it is that he wants to write about. Consequently, he does a poor job on everything. If you want to read about spirituality, go straight to the source and read Gurdjieff, Krishnamurti, or Roy Masters instead of yet another derivative knockoff. If you want unabashed porn, try the Karma Sutra or Art Belle instead."

rk: Folks, that was an actual review posted on Amazon.com by one of the AFAB Bully/Skepticultist/Roybot Disinformation Agents. Here are the actual verbatim contents of page 16 of my book "Journey Beyond Thought: Breaking the Bonds of the Conditioned Mind." See for yourselves.
" . . . .honest and unencumbered in their perceptions and actions. Unfortunately, this state of grace is soon lost as the child is inexorably drawn into the thought structures of adult society.
To the adults of His time, who were already trapped by their conditioning, Jesus spoke of dying to the past, putting an end to their conditioned state of mind and being reborn of the spirit. In doing so, He clearly showed the way to salvation. He cleared a path for those who were able to see. He pointed to the transition that must be made from the intellectual mind of opposites to the nondualistic state of wholeness, of oneness. He showed them the way to the state of being that transcended the limitations of the mind. When we originally requested removal of our book from the amazon.com web site nearly two years ago, it automatically cut off this avenue for harassment. We want to cooperate as much as possible with amazon.com in giving the public access to my husband's writing and do not wish to be forced to resort to removing our book from the amazon.com online catalog again.

Verbal flatulence at it's worst, January 30, 2005

The book is poorly written by an author who appears to be more interested in promoting the number of "big words" in his vocabulary than providing any insight into giving oneself a mental overhaul. I'll give him this much, he seems interested in the subject matter, but he isn't sufficiently well read to offer his own rendering.
My advice to this author is to first learn about the material before writing about it and second, find a publisher who provides professional editing services prior to release.

Ever put a dictionary, thesaurus and pseudoreligion in a mixer and hit frappe? That wouldn't even begin to describe the ranting delusional incoherence of this book. The author, Raymond Ronald Karczewski, who has copyrighted his own name and believes he is a christ with amnesia (he thinks we all are, but I tried a miracle on my credit card balance and it didn't work), could make a Borg blush telling you how your life is futile, or that you just might already be a servant of satan, but that message is hard to extract with high explosives from this majestic illucid linguistic tsunami. If you want to get addicted to migraine painkillers and don't have a decent regard for your sanity, buy this book.

The book is unreadable without causing a severe headache. If you have suffered through this ridiculous ranting of the authors', you will realize that the last two postings with 5 stars were written by the author himself.

The author has taken great pains to use a dictionary and thesaurus to locate an abundance of large words, I suppose to make the book more appealing to the intellectually oriented. All he has managed to compose is a book largely unfathomable by those possessed of even the most massive vocabularies.
The message: Deeply buried beneath the obfuscation of a typical argument one might find on alt.fan.art-bell, there is no spirituality to be found. The very message is condescending, essentially instructing it's target readership as to their "inertness" and "ignorance" as they manuveur down the road of life. He offers to his patron, the assertion that "thought is satanic" and all that kept this reader going, was the promise of some profound spirtual climax. For my efforts, all I received was a migraine.
The author: It is important to look at the background of the author, so that one can judge for themselves if he is qualified to advise others of how to seek spiritual enlightenment. A man who is in and out of jail is not someone to teach spiritual growth. He either needs to practice what he preaches, or if he already does, the sermon is not one that I recommend.
Anyone wanting a sample of his "message" should google for him in the google archives. This should give you a far more accurate appraisal than any critique an indivual could ever write.

A difficult read, April 4, 2003

I was interested in a book on spiritual enlightenment, but the author seems more concerned with advertising his large vocabulary, than he does providing any true insight to anyone.
Considering that this book is only 80 some pages long, it took a week and 6 sessions with a dictionary to complete, and I found myself toward the end, forcing myself to read it, just on principal. I'm afraid that I cannot recommend this book to anyone, it will only serve to confuse those seeking the human truth.

The mangled meanderings of the author are so verbally confused as to loose all meaning within the excess verbage. The abuse and over use of adjectives and adverbs would leave a college linguistics professor, dizzied from the experience and the only thing to be gained from this piece of 'literature' is a migraine. What little discernable information is present, is 'borrowed' from popular literature, and is simply an overworded version of something you might find on a religious pamphlet.
Whoever this publisher is, Ark Enterprises, they did a terrible disservice to the author by not hiring a qualified editor or literary consultant to screen the text prior to press.
